Rockwell
Scientific Expands Its High Performance Dual Track and Hold
Family for Ultra-wideband Data Acquisition
Device
dramatically increases ADC bandwidth
Thousand Oaks,
CA, November 16, 2004 Rockwell Scientific Company LLC
(RSC), a premier developer of high speed mixed signal circuits
for commercial and defense applications, announced that the company
is expanding its dual track and hold family of products. The
first of these, the RTH011, is a 10 GHz bandwidth 1 GS/s dual
track and hold (T/H) circuit with extended hold time for ultra-wideband
data acquisition.
The bandwidth
of the RTH011 - over 10GHz for small signals, 9GHz for 0.5 Vpp
and 7GHz for 1 Vpp inputs - combined with an extended hold time,
enables ultra-wideband signal capture with greater flexibility
than currently available. The interface to subsequent circuitry,
such as ADCs, became easier and more affordable by allowing the
use of a low-frequency sampling clock. With well under 1 mV noise
and 100 fs aperture jitter, the RTH011 achieves a 67 dB spurious
free dynamic range (SFDR) and a -64 dB total harmonic distortion
(THD) for a 1060 MHz, 1 Vpp input signal.
Thanks to
its ultra-w=ide input bandwidth, RSC's track and holds have enabled
many applications including direct conversion of multi-GHz carrier
signals and sampling of extremely high-speed signal edges on
the 20ps rise time range. "We have received tremendous interest
and feedback from our customers, and we have been listening.
This is the first of a series of product introductions that expands
and improves the capability of RSC's track and hold product line," said
M.J. Choe, manager of the RSC's mixed-signal product engineering
department.
An evaluation
kit (EVRTH011) is available for performance testing of the packaged
RTH011. Information about this and other high-speed data conversion
products, including ADCs, DACs, and DDFSs, can be found at www.rockwellscientific.com/highspeed.
Rockwell Scientific
Company (RSC) is an independent, privately owned high-technology
